This posting is for a part time Information Technology Summer Intern located in the Management Information System/Department of Information Technology (MIS/DIT) section within the NC Department of Public Safety (DPS). This internship is expected to start on May 18, 2026 and continue through July 24, 2026. The work schedule is part-time (up to 30 hours per week), Monday -Friday. The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour.
The position will provide the intern with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in endpoint support, server management, and data center operations. Interns will learn to troubleshoot technical issues, implement IT solutions, and assist in maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure while developing a strong understanding of IT support processes and best practices. The goal is to deliver fast, friendly, and effective technical support that minimizes downtime and improves the overall user experience.

The NC DIT Office of Privacy & Data Protection leads the state's privacy program, providing support to state agencies to embed privacy and transparency into their activities. Prioritizing Privacy & Data Protection is the mission.

Management Preferences

- Must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree (or a recent graduate) in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
