Program Dates: June 1 – July 10, 2026
Internship Duration: 6 weeks (1 week before + program dates + 1 week after)
Stipend: $4,000

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The R.E.A.C.H. (Realizing and Encouraging Adolescents to pursue Careers in Healthcare) program at Atrium Health Navicent introduces 30 Macon‑Bibb high school students (ages 16+) to healthcare careers through a 4‑week immersive experience. Students shadow various clinical areas, develop professional skills, and explore healthcare career paths within Atrium Health.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–2–5 p.m.
• Morning: 'Day in the Profession' shadowing rotations.
• Afternoon Student Forum: hands‑on simulation, career panels, education pathway guidance, financial literacy, leader engagement, optional field trips, and exposure to Atrium Health opportunities.
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and enter pre‑program data.
• Oversee daily operations and curriculum; serve as point of contact for students.
• Ensure students reach morning shadowing sites; coordinate afternoon speakers and activities.
• Mentor students and deliver short talks.
• Assist in curriculum refinement.
• Chaperone field trips.
• Complete post‑program wrap‑up, including reporting.
• Maintain a positive, supportive learning environment.
• Attend all staff meetings and complete onboarding.
• Availability: full in‑person during program; mixed virtual/in‑person during prep and wrap‑up weeks; 10–40 hours weekly (M–F).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Medical student preferred; undergraduates accepted.
• In good academic standing.
• Able to meet physical and participation requirements.
COMPENSATION
• $4,000 stipend (pre‑tax).
