Camp Walt Whitman is seeking a motivated, organized, and driven Operations Director to take on a high-impact leadership role supporting the daily logistics of our summer camp community. This position is ideal for students interested in careers in operations, business, management, sports management, recreation, event planning, logistics, or leadership.
As Operations Director, you will help coordinate and execute the systems that support over 400 campers and 200 staff, gaining real-world experience managing logistics, timelines, communication, and problem-solving in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your work will directly contribute to the success of programs, events, and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate logistics and ensure materials, equipment, and supplies are prepared for daily programs and events
- Develop and maintain organizational systems to support efficient operations
- Communicate and collaborate with staff across multiple departments
- Manage timelines, prioritize tasks, and ensure deadlines are met
- Solve operational challenges independently and proactively
- Support and help lead a small operations team
- Assist with large-scale events and all-camp programming
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to take initiative
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
- Leadership experience is a plus but not required
- Interest in operations, management, recreation, sports management, or business-related fields
- Technical or AV skills are helpful but not required

Position Details
Location: White Mountains, New Hampshire
Duration: Summer 2026 (June 11–August 9)
Compensation: Competitive summer salary
