Construction Maintenance Intern

The Suffolk County Water Authority is seeking an under-graduate college student with studies in Civil or Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field, to work in our Construction Maintenance department.
 

Responsibilities:

• Work with Construction Maintenance Staff on various projects.
• Assist in gathering data for planning system improvements.
• Prepare and update maps, databases and reports.
• Support CM Supervisors as needed for special projects.
• Perform other tasks associated with construction/installation of water main, services and appurtenances.

Requirements:

• No prior job experience is necessary.
• Must be able to work outside as well as in office.
• Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.
• Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Must be goal oriented, organized, motivated to learn.
• Must be a Suffolk County resident.

This is a paid internship within a range of $17.50-21.50/hr depending on year. Employment will begin in May and continue through mid-August. Work hours are to be determined, with a maximum of 28 hours per week.
