Construction Maintenance Intern
The Suffolk County Water Authority is seeking an under-graduate college student with studies in Civil or Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field, to work in our Construction Maintenance department.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Construction Maintenance Staff on various projects.
- Assist in gathering data for planning system improvements.
- Prepare and update maps, databases and reports.
- Support CM Supervisors as needed for special projects.
- Perform other tasks associated with construction/installation of water main, services and appurtenances.
Requirements:
- No prior job experience is necessary.
- Must be able to work outside as well as in office.
- Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.
- Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Must be goal oriented, organized, motivated to learn.
- Must be a Suffolk County resident.
This is a paid internship within a range of $17.50-21.50/hr depending on year. Employment will begin in May and continue through mid-August. Work hours are to be determined, with a maximum of 28 hours per week.
