Pharmacy Prior Authorization Trainee | Onsite- Pittsburgh

We’re looking for motivated, detail-oriented individuals to join our Pharmacy Operations team as a Pharmacy Prior Authorization Trainee. This is an exciting opportunity to begin a career in healthcare and gain hands-on training in Prior Authorization (PA) processes, insurance navigation, and pharmacy operations.

No prior authorization experience is required- we will train you.

This is a fully On-site role in Robinson Township, Pittsburgh

What you’ll do:  

  • Learn the fundamentals of prior authorization processes and pharmacy workflows
  • Assist in initiating prior authorization requests under guidance
  • Utilize Knowledge Base materials as a foundation for resolving inquiries
  • Follow up on authorization status updates
  • Escalate complex or clinical cases to experienced team members
  • Develop knowledge of pharmacy benefits, insurance terminology, and compliance standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information
  • As you grow in the role, you’ll take on increased ownership and develop into a fully skilled Prior Authorization agent. Work to resolve common data entry issues with internal stakeholders
  • Strive to meet and exceed structured performance targets. 
  • Help improve the patient experience by sharing feedback with management to further develop the product, materials and processes

Requirements

  • Desire to work in a customer/patient-centric role
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex new software
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A passion for providing top-notch patient care

Hours/Location:

  • Shift: 40hours/week (rotational shifts between 9 AM- 8 PM EST) 
    • Weekly rotating schedules: 2 weeks of 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, 1 week 11 AM- 7 PM EST and 1 week 12 PM - 8 PM ES
    • Possible rotational Saturday's shift 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
