About the Role

Core Molding Technologies is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to support safety and environmental programs in our manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in plant safety, compliance, audits, and continuous improvement.

This position can be part-time (15-25 hours/week) during the school year, with potential for full-time hours during summer or academic breaks.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work closely with plant leadership and gain direct exposure to manufacturing operations:

  • Assist with plant safety audits and environmental inspections
  • Support tracking of corrective actions and compliance documentation
  • Help maintain safety procedures and standard work documentation
  • Participate in incident investigations and near-miss reviews
  • Assist with safety training coordination and employee orientations
  • Support ISO 14001 and quality system documentation activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on workplace safety
  • Gain exposure to regulatory reporting and environmental compliance processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong interest in workplace safety and manufacturing operations
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a hands-on environment

Preferred:

  • Prior internship, co-op, or manufacturing experience
  • Coursework related to OSHA, environmental compliance, or ISO systems
