Graduate Assistant for Leadership Development
Basic Function: Assist in the development of a comprehensive and vibrant student leadership program which complements and supports the mission of the university and enriches the quality of student learning. Assist the Assistant Director, Student Leadership Development in building and implementing a student leadership experience which enhances the development of students. Work duties will include both assistance in developing and executing programming for the Pepsi Leadership Center as well as providing support/advising to Undergraduate Student Government.
Example of duties/essential functions: Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Assist in the recruitment, supervision, training, and evaluation of student employees and interns in leadership development programs
- Assist with the planning and development of programs, workshops, and institutes
- Assist with ongoing assessment of learning outcomes within the Kent State Leadership Center and Center for Student Involvement
- Coordinate the Student Leader of the Month selection process and end-of-semester celebration
- Create and distribute weekly leadership newsletters
- Present leadership trainings and workshops on topics as needed to university constituents
- Support Undergraduate Student Government through attendance at select general body and committee meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
During the serving period, students must meet these minimum qualifications:
- 3.0 GPA
- Full time graduate student status (minimum of 8 hours)
- Work 20 hours per week

Expectations:
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA while enrolled as a full-time graduate student (minimum of 8 hours), remaining in good academic standing
- Will work approximately 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semester
- Night and weekend work will be required
- Weekly meetings with supervisor
- Maintain professional relationships with student employees, department staff, and university faculty/staff
- Serve as a member of the Center for Student Involvement staff. This includes a willingness to work across areas in the office to accomplish projects and being open to all possible tasks asked of individuals (i.e. attend professional development (staff retreats) and staff meetings, answering phones, copying, mailings).

COMPENSATION:
Semi-Monthly Stipend ($11,000/year)
Tuition remission for fall and spring semesters only
University Holidays off
