Position: Total Trek Boys Running Coach

Muskegon Public Schools anticipates two (2) Coach Position openings for Oakview Elementary School. Each Coach will be trained in and deliver an evidence based program to develop the inner strength and confidence of participating boys while increasing their physical activity level. Participants will also train and compete in a non-competitive 5K event. 

The program will begin in March and consists of 90 minute practices twice a week for 9weeks. The mandatory 5k celebration event is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Newaygo High School!

Program Dates: March 2026 – May 2026 9 week program and training & meetings.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Running experience not required
• CPR and First Aid certified (training provided)
• Attend Boys Total Trek Quest Coach training

Responsibilities:

• See attached job description
• Serve as a role model for program participants
• Participate in the Celebration 5k event

Terms:

$32.77 per hour (up to 40 hours total); Temporary grant-funded position
