Bookkeeper Payroll Assistant

We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper/Payroll Assistant to maintain financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments to create financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments, client payroll, and provide administrative assistance as needed. Our ideal candidate is familiar with Quickbooks and ADP.

Responsibilities

  • Record financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Perform partial checks of the posting process
  • Enter data, maintain records and financial statements for clients
  • Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
  • Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
  • Respond to clients inquiries and resolve discrepancies

Skills

  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, (GAAP)
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Knowledge of payroll forms
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Customer service orientation
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, helpful
