Quality Coordinator Intern

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The JELD-WEN Summer Internship Program empowers talented undergraduate students to gain real-world working experience and professional development in one of our business areas. This position is focused on the Supplier Quality. The internship program includes meaningful projects and challenging work assignments geared at developing professional competencies and skills in a chosen discipline. Additionally, throughout the summer internship, participants will have the opportunity for professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities to help enhance future leadership.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop, write, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality documentation.
  • Administer and maintain the QMS, including document control, calibration systems, non-conformance tracking, and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate and monitor Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and ensure timely follow-up on findings.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with product and process standards.
  • Facilitate Gemba walks and promote a culture of quality on the production floor.
  • Track and report on key quality metrics and trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Provide training and support to team members on quality procedures and QMS tools.

 

SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Currently enrolled rising junior or senior students majoring in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering, materials science and engineering, or related technical/engineering field (Eligible Grad dates: 8/2026 – 12/2027)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power BI, Minitab, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and detail-orientation and organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and work to a high caliber while demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

 

Recommended

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Good verbal and written language, communication skills.
  • Familiar with quality management and statical tools and lean-manufacturing tools.
  • Relevant internship or previous work experience
  • Leadership experience and relationship-building skills
