Human Resources Benefits Intern
HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our Human Resources Team as a Benefits Intern. This is a challenging role in which you will apply your academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment while supporting HarbisonWalker International’s Benefits team under the direction of the Total Rewards Manager. You will gain hands-on experience in benefits and wellness programs.
Summary
The Benefits internship role provides students with the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment. This role will support and assist the HarbisonWalker International Total Reward Manager with reviewing our wellness program, reviewing our benefits utilization, performing audits, and creating standardized processes.
Responsibilities
- Audit, update and create benefits communications, data and materials
- Audit and review our wellness program details (vendors, participation and engagement plan)
- Review and assist with performing analysis of utilization reports and benchmarking reports
- Assist with the creation of SOP’s for all core total rewards processes
Requirements
- Pursuing a MA, BA or BS degree in labor relations, human resources, or equivalent (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0)
- Requires general knowledge of employee benefits or human resources
- Requires a problem-solving and analytical mindset who is interested in process improvement
- Requires the ability to influence people and teams Influencing skills with people and teams
- Requires the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all matters
- Requires the ability to convey a positive and professional image to executives, employees, and labor unions
- Requires computer operation skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) and other software tools/ solutions as needed to prepare documents and presentations.
- Requires analytical skills and the ability to assemble data
- Requires time management and organization skills with accurate and precise attention to detail
- Requires strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team and individual environment
