Position Overview:

The Elementary Teacher will design and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that supports students academically, socially, and emotionally.  The successful candidate will foster a positive classroom culture where students feel valued, challenged, and supported. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, standards aligned instruction.
  • Create an engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity and active learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress in compliance with district and state requirements.
  • Establish and communicate clear learning objectives. 
  • Foster positive behavior through consistent expectations and restorative practices.
  • Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
  • Supervise students and maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the school community. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Valid MI Teaching Certificate with an Elementary Grade Level Endorsement.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Three (3)years of successful teaching experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience integrating instructional technology
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular programs or student organizations

Required Skills:

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
  • Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology.
  • Meet professional teacher education requirements of the school, district, and state. 
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
