Division Leader

Location: Camp Akiba – Pocono Mountains, PA

Duration: 8 weeks on site (1 week of staff training + 6 weeks of camp + 3-day Spring Planning

session)

Overview: Camp Akiba is seeking energetic, responsible, and compassionate Division Leaders to

join our leadership team for Summer 2026. Division Leaders are essential to the camp

community, serving as the primary support system for both campers and staff within their

assigned division. This position is a blend of mentor, organizer, and problem-solver — ensuring

the camp experience is safe, fun, and unforgettable. We’re looking for someone who is excited to

be part of Camp Akiba and grow with us for many summers to come.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the well-being, growth, and daily experience of all campers in your division

(approximately 40–60 campers)

• Supervise and support the counselors and activity staff within your division

• Serve as a key communicator between camp leadership, staff, and parents as needed

• Support and reinforce camp policies, traditions, and community standards

• Take regular shifts in the evening duty rotation to help monitor camp life after hours

• Host or oversee evening programs and special activities for your division, ensuring they are

fun, safe, and engaging

• Actively participate in activities alongside campers to model enthusiasm and involvement

• Manage conflicts that may arise among campers or staff, addressing situations fairly and

calmly

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a camp or educational setting

• Strong leadership and supervisory skills — able to guide, mentor, and support staff

• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills with both kids and adults

• Highly organized, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure

• Enthusiastic, energetic, and willing to fully immerse in camp life

• Must be a team player who can balance fun with responsibility

Timing & Commitment

8 weeks on site (including 1 week of staff training + 6 weeks of camp + 3-day Spring Planning

session)

Must be available to live on-site for the full duration of the season
