Pay Scale Annually: $64,160-$79,160 (Depending on licensing)
$7,500 Sign on bonus paid over 18 Months!
Schedule: Monday through Friday: 9a-5p; with evening availability to support program needs
The clinician provides direct treatment and treatment oversight for pre-adolescent and adolescent juveniles with histories of sexually abusive or non-abusive sexually troubled behaviors and/or non-sexual problematic and disordered behaviors. Treatment includes individual, group, and family treatment, with specialized focus on the provision of treatment directed to sexually abusive or troubled sexual behavior, as well as the treatment of non-sexual behavioral disorders. The clinician works as part of a residentially based treatment team and will participate in an overall approach to treatment that combines the direct treatment work of the clinician with residential treatment. Clinicians must be prepared to work one evening (7-9 pm) each week, in order to provide direct or indirect treatment services or consultation for staff, to be determined by the Unit Director
Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment and Evaluation
Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of children and adolescents, including psychosocial history and risk for re-offense or ongoing behavioral difficulties, with emphasis on sexual risk for students with histories of sexually abusive or troubled sexual behavior.
Therapy and Treatment
Provide individual, group, and family therapy, including offense-specific treatment for juveniles admitted for sexually abusive or troubled sexual behavior.
Develop and implement psychoeducational and cognitive behavioral treatment materials and curricula, including workbooks, relapse prevention plans, identification of cognitive distortions, thinking errors, and dysfunctional behavioral cycles.
Detect, assess, and monitor psychiatric and behavioral co-occurring conditions such as mood, behavioral, thought, and substance use disorders.
Provide treatment and monitor progress for identified co-morbid conditions.
Documentation and Treatment Planning
Prepare clinical reports, write detailed progress notes, and maintain accurate and timely treatment records.
Develop treatment goals and objectives for behavioral treatment plans and individual service plans and monitor implementation and progress.
Collaboration and Communication
Coordinate with case managers and interdisciplinary treatment team members.
Communicate effectively with referral sources, outside agencies, departments, and service providers.
Develop discharge and aftercare recommendations and plans.
Meetings and Training
Attend and actively participate in required trainings, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention for crisis management and physical restraint, and other trainings as assigned.
Attend treatment team, unit, clinical, and case review meetings, including presenting cases as required.
Participate in referral agency, court, and other external meetings as needed, providing professional recommendations when requested.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Doctorate or master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling psychology, psychiatric nursing, or other field providing advanced training in therapy or counseling. License eligible.
Experience working with sexually abusive youth and/or non-sexually troubled juveniles.
LICENSURE
Current Massachusetts professional license or license eligible to practice under appropriate supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including participation in approved physical restraint techniques CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) when necessary.
Position is based in a highly structured residential treatment setting with 24-hour student supervision.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Ability to work assigned schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Ability to complete all required trainings.
