Research Technician Blobel Lab

A research technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Gerd Blobel at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia/UPenn. We work on areas related to epigenetics, gene expression, and diseases affecting blood cells (sickle cell disease, thalassemia, leukemia). Our work bridges basic science with preclinical studies. For our studies, we combine molecular, genomic, biochemical, and imaging approaches. The training environment is very good with many opportunities to learn, network, and collaborate across CHOP and Penn.

This specific role would be related to a project studying gene regulation, drug sensitivity, and dependencies in leukemia. This work bridges basic biology with translationally relevant work for patients with blood cancers. This is a great opportunity for those interested in applying to MD and/or PhD programs. Preferred qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in life or physical sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, or related)
  • Prior wet and/or dry lab experience

We are a highly interactive and fun-loving group of scientists. For more details, please take a look at the lab website (https://blobellab.squarespace.com/).
