Overview
The Project Manager Intern will support cross‑functional initiatives that advance organizational priorities, including emerging work in AI‑enhanced tools and application development. This role provides hands‑on experience in project coordination, process improvement, and exploring how AI capabilities can be integrated into business workflows and digital solutions. The intern will collaborate closely with leaders and project teams to help evaluate, document, and support the development of technology‑driven enhancements that improve efficiency, user experience, and decision‑making across the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support exploratory projects involving AI‑enhanced tools or workflows, such as testing AI features in applications, evaluating use cases, or helping document AI‑enabled process improvements.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and tracking project activities and timelines.
- Support project managers in preparing agendas, summaries, presentations, and status updates.
- Maintain project documentation, including workplans, requirements, and action logs.
- Conduct research and collect data to support project analysis and decision‑making.
- Help identify process efficiencies and contribute to the development of improved workflows.
- Coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders and ensure follow-up on action items.
- Monitor project progress and elevate issues or risks to the project manager as needed.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and documentation for leadership review.
- Perform other administrative or project-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- Prior internship or academic project experience in business, operations, project coordination, or healthcare (preferred).
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Smartsheet)
- Interest or experience in developing AI‑powered features within applications—including basic understanding of machine learning models, AI‑assisted workflows, or integrating AI tools into business processes
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
In Office
The working environment and physical requirements of the job include:
In-office work is performed indoors in a traditional office setting with air conditioning, artificial light, and an open workspace.
In this position you will need to communicate with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers in person and over devices, sometimes with people who are agitated. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Must be able to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Lifting of up to 10 lbs. occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines. Good reasoning ability is important. Able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.
