DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will lead the planning and evaluation of resident care according to professional and gerontological standards. You will act as a mentor and resource for the interdisciplinary team while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment through consistent communication and a daily presence. Your role will involve the direct clinical supervision of nursing staff across multiple care areas to ensure effective treatment and resident advocacy. Additionally, you will oversee staff development and participate in facility performance improvement committees. Your administrative responsibilities will include completing Minimum Data Set (MDS) records, preparing reports, and conducting evaluations for professional and paraprofessional staff. By directing all phases of nursing service through observation and formal review, you will ensure the delivery of high quality care and continuous operational improvement.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM with rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays. This may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

 

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
