Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead our clinical operations and uphold the highest standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will possess extensive medical management experience, a strong background in healthcare leadership, and a comprehensive understanding of clinical research, hospital systems, and regulatory compliance. As CMO, you will oversee clinical quality initiatives, ensure adherence to healthcare standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across all medical services.
Duties
- Provide strategic leadership for clinical programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Establishes, monitors and actively participates in the Health Center’s Quality Management Program, approved by the Board of Directors, which provides mechanisms and oversight to assure the delivery of safe, continuous, high-quality services to patients through an integrated program of quality improvement strategies, studies, monitoring’s, audits and education.
- Lead efforts in quality improvement initiatives by monitoring clinical outcomes and implementing best practices in patient care.
- Supervise medical staff including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals; promote professional development and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
- Manage utilization management processes to optimize resource use while maintaining high-quality patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with administrative teams on budgeting, resource allocation, and operational planning to support sustainable growth.
- Ensure accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and maintain compliance with medical records regulations.
- Stay abreast of advancements in physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, clinical development, and healthcare management to inform organizational strategies.
Skills
- Extensive experience managing healthcare organizations with a focus on managed care systems.
- Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for effective clinical documentation.
- Strong background in clinical research methodologies and medical development processes.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to lead complex initiatives across multiple departments.
- In-depth knowledge of hospital operations, medical terminology, and physiology principles.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations governing medical devices and pharmaceuticals; experience with research protocols is desirable.
- Expertise in healthcare management practices including budgeting, resource planning, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with supervising experience in multidisciplinary teams; excellent communication skills are essential.
- Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and medical records management to ensure confidentiality and security.

Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with current unrestricted license to practice as a physician in the State of Michigan.
