Radiologic Technologists perform radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; a high degree of technical competency and the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision.
This position will apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology.
Employees in this position will be responsible for inpatient on-call and shift rotation.
What you will do
- Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure while utilizing effective communication.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
- Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.
- Position and instruct patients while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as required.
- Perform standard diagnostic radiographic procedures as required by physician’s order.
- Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures to include but not limited to fluoroscopy, C-arm in the Operating Room, digital and mobile imaging at applicable locations.
- Select proper exposure factors of radiographic equipment for each examination.
- Completion of exam in hospital information system.
- Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment.
- May also assist with mentoring and/or training students, new hires.
Education Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program required
Experience Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year Radiologic Technology experience is preferred
- New Graduates are welcome as well!

Licenses and Certifications
- Radiography - American Registry Radiologic Technologist Required
- Radiography - South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required
- (Post-offer, candidates for SCRQSA certification should complete the Application for Certification. Check the appropriate category of certification, sign the application, submit the $50 certification fee and all accompanying documentation. You must include a current copy of your ARRT, NMTCB, ISCD or RCIS certification if applying for those categories. )
- If you are a recent graduate of a one-year or two-year program, you will need to provide SCRQSA a copy of your certificate of completion or degree and/or or a letter from your program director stating that you have completed the program and are eligible to sit for the state board or national registry.
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire, with recertification every two years.
