Maintenance Mechanic I

Job Description

1. Performs tasks as applicable in the following trades: a. Carpentry work and repairs in building construction and maintenance; b. Heating installation, repair and maintenance; c. Plumbing installation, repair and maintenance; d. Refrigeration installation, repair and maintenance; e. Electrical repair and maintenance;f. Automobile repair and maintenance; g. Diesel engine installation, repair and maintenance; h. Water/Wastewater System operation and maintenance.
2. Performs duties with highest standards of safety for staff and students.
3. Identifies and requisitions parts from catalog references in specialty area(s).
4. Performs other general building maintenance tasks in a variety of crafts.
5. Is responsible for reporting general building maintenance and equipment malfunctions and repair needs.
6. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
7. Follows preventive maintenance checklist on daily and monthly basis as outlines by the program.
