Culinary & Hospitality Workstudy at Art School

We believe arts & crafts education is something everyone should have the opportunity to experience. As part of our commitment to making Arrowmont accessible to all, we offer a unique workstudy and educational assistantship program for students interested in taking our workshops and classes, while being immersed in an arts & crafts community. Those who participate in the workstudy program are an integral part of Arrowmont’s operations and are considered student ambassadors. These students serve a 40-hour week worked in Culinary, Hospitality or the Supply Store, and are consequently given the opportunity to take one of our national workshops tuition-free (based on availability; one per week worked), as well as have most weekly meals and housing provided for the duration of the program.

Fall Application window: April 13 – June 5, 2026

Fall Workstudy Session: September 24 - November 7, 2026.

Arrowmont considers individuals who are mature, team oriented, self-motivated, and interested in the arts. High energy, collaboration, and communication skills are required for all positions. Each workstudy may cross-over into other departments on occasion so flexibility in tasks is required. Workshop assignments are awarded based on availability and in consultation with the workstudy student before arriving to campus. Fees associated with instructor-required materials for workshops will be covered due to a generous grant, up to $250/workshop. Any balances above that limit or outside of the scope of Arrowmont-approved covered materials are to be paid weekly in the supply store. Failure to pay said materials fees will forfeit participation in future workshops. We require workstudy students commit to a full workstudy session at Arrowmont:

Arrowmont is committed to the ongoing journey towards creating an inclusive, anti-racist, diverse arts and crafts community that welcomes and supports everyone. We strongly encourage BIPOC, LGBTQ+ individuals, and individuals with disabilities to apply.
