Position Summary
The IT Data Analyst Intern will support the organization’s data initiatives by developing Power BI dashboards and improving
data structure, quality, and reporting capabilities. This role is focused on transforming operational data into clear, actionable
insights for leadership and staff.
This is a part-time paid summer internship (approximately 20 hours per week) designed for a college student with an interest
in data analytics, business intelligence, or information systems. The intern will work closely with IT and department leaders to
organize data sources, build dashboards, and enhance reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics & Visualization
• Design and build interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI
• Translate business requirements into meaningful visualizations and metrics
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, patterns, and improvement opportunities
• Present data in a clear and user-friendly format for non-technical users
Data Management & Organization
• Assist in cleaning, organizing, and standardizing data from multiple sources
• Support development of basic data models within Power BI
• Help ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports
• Document data sources, definitions, and reporting logic
Process Improvement
• Identify inefficiencies in current reporting processes and suggest improvements
• Assist in automating recurring reports and data workflows where possible
• Collaborate with departments to streamline how data is collected and used
Qualifications & Skills
• Currently enrolled in a college or university (preferred majors: Information Systems,
Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI (academic or project experience acceptable)
• Basic understanding of data modeling and data relationships
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and data analysis concepts
• Exposure to SQL or databases is a plus, but not required
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-technical users
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
Work Schedule
• Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week)
• Flexible schedule during standard business hours
• Summer internship (start/end dates flexible based on academic calendar)
Physical Requirements
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
• Occasional lifting of equipment up to 20 pounds
Compensation
This is a paid internship. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications
