Purchasing Expeditor Intern
Position Summary :
The Purchasing Expeditor Intern plays a key supporting role within the Supply Chain team by helping ensure timely delivery of materials and components critical to operations. This entry‑level position is well suited for individuals who are detail‑oriented, proactive, and performance‑driven. The role works closely with Buyers, Planners, and Suppliers to support reliable supply and operational excellence.
This is an on-site position located in Ocala, Florida.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monitoring of open purchase orders to help ensure delivery commitments align with business and production requirements
- Perform routine supplier follow‑ups on order acknowledgements, delivery dates, and shipment status
- Maintain accurate and timely updates within ERP/MRP systems to support data integrity and decision‑making
- Communicate delivery updates, potential delays, or issues to Buyers and internal stakeholders
- Assist with expediting high‑priority orders under guidance from senior Supply Chain team members
- Help resolve basic shipping discrepancies, shortages, or documentation issues in coordination with suppliers
- Prepare and distribute status reports and expediting summaries as requested
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Purchasing, Planning, Operations, and Quality teams
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve communication, tracking, or processes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or associate’s degree required; coursework in Supply Chain, Business, or Operations preferred
- 0–2 years of experience in a supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or administrative role (internships welcome)
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of follow‑through and accountability
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); ERP system exposure a plus
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Desire to learn, take ownership, and grow within a results‑driven organization
