Junior Measurement Specialist

Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with an eye for detail? Do you enjoy peeking "under the hood" of websites to see how they work? Foundation Data is looking for a Junior Measurement Specialist Intern to help us ensure our automotive dealer partners have perfectly functioning tracking and measurement tools. If you are comfortable with basic HTML and want to learn how the world's biggest brands track digital success, this role is for you.

About Foundation Data

Created by the founders of Google’s Automotive Retail Team, Foundation Data helps dealerships take control of their digital advertising. We provide the data "infrastructure" that proves what’s working and what’s not, so dealers can maximize their Digital ROI.

About this Role

As a Junior Measurement Specialist Intern, your main mission is Auditing and Verification. You will spend your time navigating dealership websites, using browser inspection tools to confirm that tracking tags (like Google Tag Manager and GA4) are present and functioning. You’ll be the first line of defense in ensuring our data quality is at 100%.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Website Tag Auditing: Perform manual "health checks" on dealership websites to verify the presence of Google Tag Manager (GTM) and various product tools on websites.
  • HTML Inspection: Use Browser Developer Tools (Inspect Element) to verify that tracking codes are correctly placed in the site's header or body.
  • Conversion Testing: Click through website buttons (e.g., "Schedule Service" or "Get My Trade-In Value") to ensure the proper "events" are firing in real-time.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Log your findings in our tracking database, noting any sites that are missing tools or firing errors.
  • Support Ticket Resolution: Assist the senior team by investigating simple internal requests to check if a specific tool is live on a specific site.

What We’re Looking For:

  • The "Inspector" Mindset: You aren't afraid to look at code. You find it satisfying to find a needle in a haystack (or a missing tag in a block of HTML).
  • Basic Technical Foundation: You understand the very basics of how a website is built (HTML tags like <head>, <body>, and <a>).
  • Browser Pro: You are comfortable using Chrome DevTools or "Tag Assistant" extensions to see what's happening behind the scenes.
  • Detail Obsessed: You notice the small things. If a pixel is off or a tag is slightly wrong, you’ll catch it.
  • Spreadsheet Friendly: You are comfortable tracking your work in Google Sheets or Excel.
  • Great Communicator: You can clearly explain to the team, "I checked Site A, and the tag isn't firing on the confirmation page."
  • Required Hours: Up to 20 hours a week with opportunities to flex more hours based on demand and availability.

Bonus Points (But Not Required!):

  • Experience with Google Tag Assistant or GTM "Preview Mode."
  • Interest in the Automotive industry.
  • Currently enrolled in a technical or marketing degree program.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How to use Google Tag Manager and GA4 at an enterprise level.
  • Advanced website troubleshooting and QA processes.
  • Insight into the Google Ads ecosystem from industry veterans.
