AI & Automation Intern
About Us
Luxury Brands LLC (dba FHI Heat) is a dynamic, mid-market portfolio company managing exciting brands. We are currently embarking on an aggressive AI deployment plan. Our overarching goal is to expand our margins through two simultaneous levers: making higher-quality decisions to drive revenue and automating repetitive tasks to lower operating costs.
The Role
We are looking for a driven AI & Automation Intern to assist our CEO and IT team during this pivotal deployment phase. You will get hands-on experience building the technical foundation for a modern, AI-augmented business. Your work will directly impact our three core pillars: real-time executive dashboards, productivity tracking, and the rollout of production-grade task automations.
Key Responsibilities
Dashboard Integration: Assist in developing a unified, multi-entity executive dashboard that aggregates data from SAP B1, data warehouses, and retail/channel-specific APIs.
Task Automation: Support the engineering and deployment of high-value automations, including integrating OCR tools for Accounts Payable invoice capture and automating TikTok Shop creator payout calculations.
AI Implementation: Help build out a Tier-1 customer service AI assistant to automate order status and shipping lookups.
System Reliability: Ensure that all shipped automations include proper monitoring alerts and documented manual-override procedures to prevent them from breaking silently.
Data Security: Strictly adhere to our data security guardrails, ensuring that no employee PII is exposed in dashboards and that all integrations rely on read-only service accounts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong foundational programming skills, with a working environment centered around VS Code and Git Bash.
Experience with our core dashboard stack, including Node.js, Express, React, and Chart.js.
Understanding of API integrations and data extraction (e.g., connecting to Smartsheet APIs or retail partner platforms).
A pragmatic mindset focused on extending existing systems, like SAP B1, rather than replacing them.
Excellent communication skills and the discipline to flag blockers in writing the moment they appear.
Experience or familiarity with large language models, specifically Anthropic’s Claude, and working with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
Concluding Notes
This isn't a lab demo internship; you will be building running, owned, and documented automations for a live business. You will learn how to navigate real-world data pipelines, measure the ROI of automation through recovered labor hours, and deploy AI solutions securely within a corporate environment.
