Construction Safety Internship

Program Background

 

Hatzel & Buehler, Inc. College Safety Internship Program is designed to introduce students to the wide range of career opportunities within the electrical construction industry. Since its inception, the program has consistently supported students in developing professional skills, building workplace relationships, and gaining meaningful, hands-on experience.

 

Program participants have gone on to achieve significant post-internship success, including acceptance into local IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) apprenticeship programs and securing full-time employment within the industry.

 

Safety Program Overview

   

​​The Safety Intern will support the Health & Safety team by assisting with safety initiatives, compliance activities, and site observations. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the construction safety field, develop practical skills in hazard recognition, and gain hands-on experience with regulatory requirements, company safety systems, and risk management processes. The role provides mentorship from experienced safety professionals and the opportunity to learn about careers in safety management.​ 
 

Through this experience, you will build a strong foundation in both technical and professional competencies while gaining insight into potential long-term career paths within the organization and industry.

 

Start Date: Summer 2026/ Fall 2026/ Winter 2027/ Spring 2027/ Summer 2027

 

Salary:  $20.00/hour

 

Location: DC, DE, KY, MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, PA, VA, WV
