Construction Project Management Intern
The Project Management Intern supports the project management team in overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of construction projects. Working under the guidance of the Branch Manager and Project Managers, this role provides hands-on experience in managing project scope, schedule, budget, and client communications while learning industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing assigned projects by supporting coordination of scope, cost, schedule, and overall project efficiency.
- Support communication between project teams, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Help review project plans, specifications, and contract requirements to gain a thorough understanding of project scope.
- Assist in tracking project progress and updating project status in the company’s ERP system.
- Support the preparation and submission of payment requisitions, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation.
- Help identify and document changes to project scope and assist in the change management process.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables are met.
- Participate in job meetings and assist with meeting notes and follow-ups.
- Work with purchasing and project teams to help coordinate materials and subcontractor activities.
- Promote and support a strong culture of safety and quality on all projects.
- Assist with maintaining organized project documentation and records.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in the construction field
- Basic understanding of construction processes (coursework or prior experience preferred).
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced setting.
