Accounting Operations Intern
Finz is building AI-native operating finance for real economy businesses. We help restaurants, retail, and service businesses get better control over cash, costs, and margin by connecting finance with daily operations.
Most of these businesses do not have CFO teams. Their financial data is spread across QuickBooks, banks, POS systems, spreadsheets, and vendor invoices. Problems are often found too late.
This role is for someone who wants to learn accounting inside a modern fintech company. You will support day-to-day bookkeeping, clean financial data, build reports, flag issues, and work directly with customers to help keep their finance operations organized.
What You’ll Do
- Support bookkeeping and accounting operations for SMB customers
- Enter and update bills, invoices, payments, receipts, and vendor details
- Maintain clean ledgers in QuickBooks and other accounting systems
- Reconcile bank, accounting, POS, and payment data
- Identify mismatches, missing data, duplicate entries, and unusual transactions
- Build simple financial reports for cash flow, expenses, revenue, margin, AR, and AP
- Help customers answer basic accounting and reporting questions
- Escalate issues that need review by senior finance or product teams
- Test Finz product workflows using real customer finance data
- Help improve how Finz detects abnormalities, explains numbers, and supports operators
Who We’re Looking For
- Student or recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, AR/AP, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Comfortable with QuickBooks or willing to learn quickly
- Detail-oriented and reliable with financial data
- Able to manage repetitive tasks accurately
- Comfortable speaking with customers in a clear and professional way
- Curious about fintech, AI, and how modern finance tools are built
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment
This is a hands-on role. You will work with real data, real customers, and real business problems.
Please include a short cover letter highlighting why this role interests you and a brief summary of your accounting experience, bookkeeping work, or relevant coursework.
