Clinic Receptionist
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Clinic Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service while managing check-in and check-out procedures.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EClincalWorks, and Athenahealth.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process insurance claims with accuracy.
- Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Handle incoming phone calls with professionalism, directing inquiries appropriately and managing multi-line phone systems.
- Assist with medical administrative tasks including filing, data entry, document review, and maintaining medical records.
- Support billing processes by collecting payments, processing medical collections, and reviewing documentation for accuracy.
- Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate patient intake, appointment scheduling, and follow-up care plans.
- Utilize various EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Dentrix to ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions.
- Perform office management duties including inventory management of supplies like dental or medical equipment such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix systems.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, and medical billing procedures.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly preferred.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills including 10-key typing.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with office management and front desk responsibilities is essential.
- Exceptional phone etiquette combined with strong organizational skills for managing appointments and patient flow.
- Ability to review documentation thoroughly for accuracy while supporting care plans and medical records management.
- Experience in insurance verification, Medicare processing, or hospital settings can be advantageous for this role.
