Survey Utility Technician - TriMedia - Anywhere in US (Travel/Field Based Role)

TriMedia Environmental & Engineering Services, LLC is seeking motivated Survey / Utility Services Technicians to join our growing Utility Services team. This role is open to applicants anywhere in the United States and is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on fieldwork, travel, problem-solving, and working outdoors.

This is a travel-based position with project assignments throughout the U.S. Technicians can expect to travel up to 80% of the time, with company-covered travel expenses. While TriMedia is headquartered in Marquette, Michigan, applicants do not need to live in Marquette to be considered. Team members may occasionally travel to headquarters for meetings, training, or project-related needs.

What You’ll Do.

  • Work as part of a field crew on active construction and infrastructure sites
  • Assist with construction staking and layout activities
  • Perform as-built surveys for completed construction projects
  • Locate underground utilities using advanced electronic utility locating equipment
  • Collect and survey utility location data using Surveying and GIS platforms and instruments
  • Review completed field deliverables for quality and scope compliance
  • Maintain strong communication and coordination with project teams
  • Follow all company, client, and project safety requirements
  • Deliver accurate, high-quality work products while meeting project deadlines

What We’re Looking For.

Education & Experience

One of the following:

  • Associate degree in Surveying Technology, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • OR 2+ years of experience in pipeline construction, heavy construction, surveying, or related field operations

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with survey instruments, GPS/GNSS equipment, and GIS software
  • Experience using utility locating equipment
  • Strong computer skills and technical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

 Position Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 80% for project assignments throughout the U.S.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
