COB Accounting Student Assistant

The student will work in the Accounting/Legal Environment Department of the LCOB, assisting with courses, research, and student recruiting, retention, and engagement efforts. Duties may include:

  • Tutor courses (particularly ACC 215 and ACC 216), lead group discussions, and complete other tasks that support the teaching of high-quality courses;
  • Provide research support for the division’s professors and chair, including assistance with editing, researching articles, data collection/analysis, conducting literature reviews, and other activities that aid faculty in publishing scholarly work;
  • Assist with Career/Major fairs and recruiting events;
  • Assist with Student Organizations; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

 The ideal student worker will be an accounting major of junior or senior rank with good communication skills, comfort with data statistics and analytics, and enthusiasm for accounting. Student must have completed ACC 215 and ACC 216 or equivalent prior to starting.

  • Pay is $12 per hour
  • Hours are 10 hours per week
  • Federal work-study positions are subject to change based on funding availability.
  • Students cannot work during class hours and schedules must be planned around class.
