Business Development & Partnerships Intern
Lawly is building a marketplace that connects law school applicants with experienced admissions consultants. We are preparing to launch and are looking for a Business Development & Partnerships Intern to help grow our network of consultants, affiliates, and organizational partners.
This is an unpaid, part-time internship with flexible hours. You will work directly with the founder and gain hands-on experience with business development, outreach, partnerships, affiliate marketing, and early-stage startup growth.
This is a strong fit for someone who wants more than a narrowly defined internship. You will work close to the company’s growth efforts, understand why different initiatives are being pursued, and see the direct results of your work.
What You'll Work On
- Reaching out to admissions consultants and introducing them to the Lawly platform
- Helping recruit and onboard consultants before and after launch
- Researching organizations, communities, and businesses that could become strong Lawly partners
- Developing personalized partnership and outreach proposals
- Helping establish referral and affiliate relationships with relevant partners
- Maintaining communication with partners and supporting those relationships over time
- Researching competitors, industry trends, and potential growth opportunities
- Tracking outreach, follow-ups, conversations, and relationship status
- Testing new business-development and partnership strategies to determine what produces results
You will not simply be handed a list and asked to send the same message repeatedly. You will receive context, goals, guidance, and the opportunity to help shape how Lawly approaches consultants and partners. The founder will be available to answer questions, provide feedback, and help you develop your outreach and relationship-building skills.
What You'll Gain
- Direct and regular access to the founder
- Meaningful responsibility for real outreach and partnership initiatives
- Practical experience with business development, relationship management, and startup growth
- Exposure to referral and affiliate marketing programs
- Experience researching prospects, developing proposals, and managing a pipeline
- The opportunity to test ideas and see which approaches generate real results
- Substantive experience that can be discussed in future interviews and included on your résumé
Who We Are Looking For
You may be a strong fit if you are:
- Comfortable introducing yourself and reaching out to people you do not already know
- A clear and thoughtful written and verbal communicator
- Organized and dependable, with strong follow-through
- Able to keep track of conversations, next steps, and follow-up dates
- Interested in startups, business development, sales, partnerships, marketing, or entrepreneurship
- Able to work independently while also being receptive to feedback
- Available for consistent part-time hours on a schedule that can be arranged around school
Prior business-development or sales experience is helpful but not required. We care more about initiative, communication, reliability, and a genuine willingness to learn.
If you are excited about helping an early-stage company build its network and grow from the ground up, we would love to hear from you.
