As a Psychiatrist in the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, you will:
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment services.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered mental health care to diverse populations.
- Train, mentor, and support interns and resident physicians.
- Consult with medical staff on patient care, treatment planning, and diagnostic services.
- Assist in planning and developing psychiatric health programs and clinical initiatives.
- Support administrative responsibilities, including program planning, workflow improvements, budgeting, personnel activities, and resource management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of a psychiatry residency approved by an American Specialty Board.
Licensure
- Current California Physician and Surgeon's License issued by the Medical Board of California.
- Valid California Class C Driver License, or the ability to utilize an alternate method of transportation to perform essential job functions.
In addition to a competitive salary, eligible Psychiatrists may receive:
- 5.5% additional compensation for AMA Certification in Psychiatry
- $40/hour bonus for qualifying assignments at High Desert locations
