Information Technology Specialist

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As an Information Technology Specialist, you will:

  • Provide technical support for Data Warehouse infrastructure and serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for Data Warehouse and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) development.
  • Oversee GIS software development, testing, quality assurance, validation, implementation, and maintenance activities.
  • Manage projects through the system development lifecycle, including waterfall, agile and hybrid methodologies.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technology which could provide improvements, cost savings, and efficiency.
  • Utilize knowledge of Artificial Intelligence tools such as Chat GPT, Co-Pilot, PaaS and SaaS services on AWS & Azure and data lake platforms such as Snowflake, Data Bricks.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Applicants for the Information Technology Management series, 2210 at the GS-13 grade level must have Information Technology (IT) related experience which demonstrates proficiency in the following competencies:

AND

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

  • Providing technical support for Data Warehouse infrastructure utilizing multiple data sources, implementation, software installation, configuration, upgrade, maintenance, inter-organizational data coordination and troubleshooting of issues with database software, GIS software/tools, or other exiting business intelligence tools.
  • Overseeing GIS software development, testing, quality assurance, validation, implementation, maintenance activities and scheduling of projects including design, development, implementation, and maintenance of solutions to meet Data Warehouse information systems requirements.
  • Managing projects through the system development life cycle (concept, design, development, testing, implementation, training, evaluation, and close-out) which include waterfall, agile and hybrid methodologies.
  • Researching and evaluating emerging technology which could provide improvements, cost savings and efficiency.
  • Applying knowledge of Artificial Intelligence tools such as Chat GPT, Co-Pilot, PaaS and SaaS services on AWS or Azure (Eg: Claude, EKS) and data lake platforms (Eg: Snowflake, Data Bricks).
