HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE GUEST TEACHER (Chemistry Preferred)

VACANCY:  The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a temporary science substitute �guest' teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year. 

DATES:  August 31, 2026 - December 3, 2026  

JOB SUMMARY: The teacher is responsible to the building principal for: planning instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Applicants must hold a State of Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License with an endorsement in Science (chemistry preferred)
• Successful 9-12 teaching experience (preferred)
• Demonstrated skill in diagnosing, prescribing, assessing student learning, and appropriate  recordkeeping
• Knowledge of current teaching techniques
• Applicants must be able to structure a classroom to maximize student learning.
• Applicants must be able to establish effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.
• Willingness to participate in co-curricular programs as a sponsor, supervisor, or coach  

WORKING CONDITIONS: Long-term substitute teaching assignments exceeding 20 days: $215 per day.
