Nonprofit Operations Intern
Together for You, Inc. (TFY) is a Maryland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth, young adults, and families through Mentorship & Leadership, Mental Health & Well-Being, Career Readiness, Family Support, and Digital Education & AI Literacy.
Together for You, Inc. is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Nonprofit Operations & Administration Intern for Fall 2026.
This internship is ideal for a student interested in nonprofit management, public administration, business administration, organizational leadership, human resources, project management, office administration, or nonprofit operations.
The intern will work with TFY leadership to support the systems, processes, documentation, scheduling, records, and administrative functions that allow a growing nonprofit organization to operate effectively.
This role provides behind-the-scenes exposure to nonprofit leadership and organizational management. The intern will have opportunities to help build and improve real systems rather than simply performing routine clerical work.
Expected Responsibilities
Assist with day-to-day administrative and operational activities.
Help organize organizational documents, electronic files, shared folders, templates, records, and administrative materials.
Assist with maintaining accurate program, volunteer, intern, partner, and organizational records.
Help develop and maintain project trackers, calendars, task lists, and organizational timelines.
Assist with meeting preparation, including agendas, materials, presentations, attendance records, and follow-up documentation.
Take meeting notes and help document decisions, action items, responsibilities, and deadlines.
Support scheduling and coordination of internal meetings, program activities, interviews, orientations, and organizational events.
Assist with internship and volunteer administration, including onboarding documents, schedules, records, assignments, and communication.
Help develop and improve internal forms, templates, checklists, procedures, and administrative systems.
Assist with drafting and organizing standard operating procedures and internal process documentation.
Help maintain contact lists, databases, directories, and organizational records.
Support data entry and basic information management.
Assist with preparing internal reports, summaries, spreadsheets, presentations, and administrative documents.
Help coordinate supplies, materials, technology, and logistics needed for programs, workshops, meetings, and events.
Assist with tracking organizational deadlines, recurring responsibilities, and follow-up items.
Help organize board, committee, advisory, and leadership materials when appropriate.
Assist with preparing board meeting packets, reports, presentations, and administrative materials.
Help maintain documentation related to policies, governance, programs, partnerships, and organizational operations.
Support document formatting, proofreading, file organization, and quality-control activities.
Assist with developing efficient workflows for a growing nonprofit organization.
Help identify operational challenges and recommend practical process improvements.
Support basic inventory, equipment, and resource tracking when needed.
Assist with maintaining TFY's internal calendars and planning documents.
Help coordinate special organizational projects and initiatives.
Collaborate with other interns and TFY teams to keep projects organized and moving forward.
Participate in team meetings, supervision, organizational planning, and professional-development activities.
Complete additional administrative and operational projects based on organizational priorities.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants should:
Be currently enrolled in a college, university, community college, graduate program, certificate program, or comparable educational/training program; recent graduates may also be considered.
Demonstrate an interest in nonprofit management, business administration, public administration, organizational leadership, project management, human resources, office administration, or related work.
Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Be able to commit approximately 10–15 hours per week during the Fall 2026 semester.
Be able to complete assignments and meet established deadlines.
Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, initiative, and willingness to learn.
Be comfortable working with organizational documents and administrative systems.
Be willing to maintain confidentiality regarding organizational, participant, personnel, board, donor, and partner information.
Be willing to participate in orientation, regular supervision, team meetings, and professional-development activities.
Previous nonprofit or administrative experience is not required.
Relevant coursework, office experience, student leadership, campus organizations, volunteer service, project management, event planning, customer service, administrative work, and other experiences may be considered.
