About the Internship
LifeWorks is seeking a Fundraising & Events Intern to join our Strategic Partnership team for the Fall semester of 2026. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting fundraising operations, donor engagement, revenue strategy, and special events. The intern will play an integral role in maintaining high-quality donor data, supporting prospect research, coordinating fundraising events, and improving internal processes that help advance LifeWorks' mission. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented, organized, and analytical student interested in nonprofit fundraising, operations, business intelligence, event management, or project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Operations
- Support documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, and best practices for CRM usage, data governance, activity tracking, and moves management.
Prospect Research & Fundraising Support
- Conduct donor and prospect research, including wealth screening and identification of potential major gift prospects.
- Prepare research summaries and portfolio recommendations for frontline fundraisers.
- Assist with donor segmentation, reporting, and fundraising analytics to support strategic decision-making.
Event Planning & Donor Engagement
- Support planning and execution of Lunch for LifeWorks, the organization's signature annual fundraising event, along with other donor cultivation events throughout the semester.
- Assist with guest communications, RSVP tracking, and event registration management.
- Coordinate logistical communication with vendors, venues, caterers, and A/V partners.
- Help manage sponsor benefit fulfillment, ensuring all recognition and deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare day-of-event materials including seating charts, run-of-show documents, volunteer assignments, name badges, and event packets.
- Participate in event planning meetings by preparing agendas, documenting action items, and tracking project progress.
Administrative & Project Coordination
- Build and maintain project tracking systems and timelines.
- Support cross-functional collaboration across the Development team.
- Assist with special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.

Who We're Looking For
- Current student in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Communications, Business, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiarity with basic database queries.
- Ability to write persuasively and professionally with a keen eye for tone and detail.
- Someone who finds satisfaction in "clean" project boards and ensuring no detail falls through the cracks.
Ability to handle sensitive donor and financial information with the utmost discretion. - A genuine interest in solving youth homelessness and understanding the systems that drive community changes.
