Position Announcement for Cyberseminar Coordinator  

POSITION: Health Science Specialist: Cyberseminar Coordinator, GS-11

 

LOCATION: The position is based at the VA Boston Healthcare System, Jamaica Plain campus (Boston, MA), within a national resource center for research – the Center for Information Dissemination and Education Resources (CIDER). The selected candidate will work full time onsite at the Jamaica Plain campus.

 

DESCRIPTION: The Cyberseminar Coordinator position is within the national Center for Information Dissemination and Education Resources (CIDER), which is part of the Health Systems Research (HSR) portfolio within the Office of Research and Development (ORD), Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs. CIDER's mission is to improve the health and care of Veterans by disseminating important findings and information from health systems and other medical and healthcare research to policymakers, managers, clinicians, and researchers throughout VA and the larger healthcare community.

 

The purpose of this position is to provide project management, communications, and technical support for the HSR/ORD Cyberseminar Program within HSR’s national research program. HSR/ORD Cyberseminars are an important and popular subset of the content CIDER provides for policymakers, managers, clinicians, and researchers throughout VA and beyond. The position requires a diverse range of organizational, communication, and computer technology skills to coordinate and host webinars designed to disseminate information about research findings, accomplishments, and impacts that improve VA healthcare quality, organization/delivery, and efficiency. Training in the WebEx webinar hosting platform will be provided. The Cyberseminar Coordinator works closely with designated points of contact within HSR to obtain relevant information to build, promote, and host live webinars presented by health systems researchers within VA as well as provide post-session reports and evaluation data to presenters. 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Applicants must be US citizens and must clear a US government background check. Student or other work visas are not acceptable.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences, or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position is required. Master’s degree in the health or allied sciences is strongly preferred (e.g., MPH). Applicants will provide a resume and other relevant samples of experience.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with a research environment: research design/methodology, recruitment, data collection/analysis, database management, report preparation.
  • Project management/coordination and evaluation with demonstrated strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint slide production and display and online webinar hosting programs.
