Summary:

As a part of the Goldbelt Glacier Team, you will be supporting the Naval Logistics Command with medical services for active-duty military personnel, their dependents, eligible DoD civilian employees, and other eligible beneficiaries designated by the Government. As a HealthCare Worker (HCW), you will be assigned to either a Military Treatment Facility (MTF) or other Federal medical treatment facilities in Japan. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates; however, individuals currently residing in Japan will receive priority consideration.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, Department of Defense, Department of Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and MTF instructions and policies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently and maintain good communication skills with patients and other health care personnel.
• A thorough understanding of the military lifestyle and experience working with military family members.
• Working knowledge of relevant military, state, federal, and local laws and resources.
• Highly developed written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to commute to and from various locations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Possess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, a Doctorate Degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
• Successful completion of a residency program corresponding to the specialty required by the contract which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical authority.
• Possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license to practice as a physician in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
• Possess and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration number (certificate) to prescribe controlled substances as listed in 21 C.F.R. 1308 (verified after award).
• Provide two letters of recommendation written within the last two years attesting to clinical skills. A minimum of one of the letters must be from a supervisor. The other letter must be from either a clinic or hospital administrator, or a practicing physician. Reference letters shall attest to the quality and quantity of experience. The letters may also address patient rapport and the communication skills between practitioner and patient and among peers. Recommendation letters must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference.
