TBD Investors is a family-office investment platform that backs talented entrepreneurs acquiring and building enduring businesses. We invest our own capital and work closely with our portfolio companies, including a growing group of healthcare businesses operating across multiple specialties and care settings.
Our healthcare portfolio companies are often founder-led or searcher-led businesses where interns can have a real impact. This is not a “sit in the corner and observe” internship. We are looking for people who want to help build companies while strengthening the systems that support safe, ethical, and high-quality patient care.

About the Role
We are looking for a thoughtful, analytical, and detail-oriented Clinical Compliance Intern to support clinical quality and compliance initiatives across TBD Investors’ portfolio of healthcare companies.
You will work on projects involving clinical policies, regulatory requirements, documentation standards, quality assurance, patient privacy, credentialing, and other systems that help healthcare organizations deliver consistent and compliant care.
Projects may span multiple healthcare specialties, business models, and regulatory environments. You will have the opportunity to research requirements, compare practices across organizations, identify potential gaps, and help translate complex clinical and regulatory guidance into practical tools for operating teams.
This is not a clinical-care or observational position. You will take ownership of meaningful projects, collaborate with clinical and business leaders, and help develop systems that can scale as our healthcare companies grow.
What You’ll Do
Depending on your interests, experience, and portfolio company needs, you may:
Research federal and state healthcare regulations, clinical standards, and licensing requirements
Monitor changes in clinical, regulatory, and payer requirements
Review and organize clinical policies, procedures, and compliance materials
Compare existing practices against regulatory requirements and industry standards
Help identify gaps in clinical documentation, training, credentialing, or quality-assurance processes
Support the development and maintenance of compliance checklists, policy libraries, and tracking systems
Assist with preparations for internal reviews, audits, accreditation, or regulatory inspections
Research requirements related to HIPAA, patient privacy, clinical documentation, and records management
Support clinician licensing, credentialing, and continuing-education tracking
Review de-identified documentation and operational data for trends or potential areas of improvement
Research incident-reporting, complaint-management, and corrective-action practices
Benchmark clinical quality and compliance programs across healthcare organizations
Help create training materials for clinicians, employees, and operating teams
Translate complex clinical and regulatory guidance into clear, practical recommendations
Collaborate with clinical, compliance, legal, operations, and company leadership
Present research, findings, and recommendations to portfolio company leaders
All work will be conducted under appropriate clinical, privacy, legal, and ethical guidelines. Interns will not provide clinical care, offer legal advice, make independent compliance determinations, or have unauthorized access to protected health information.
