Graphic and Web Designer
GRAPHIC AND WEB DESIGNER
Make Me Visible and Healveda Care
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for a designer who can create distinct, credible, and emotionally intelligent visual identities for Make Me Visible and Healveda Care.
Make Me Visible requires design that communicates evidence, protection, dignity, accountability, witnessing, and action. Healveda Care requires design that communicates trust, medical seriousness, coordination, safety, and respect for people living with complex health conditions.
These organizations must not look interchangeable. We need a designer who can understand the purpose of each brand and translate it into strong websites, pages, graphics, presentations, and campaign materials.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
• Design and improve responsive website pages for Make Me Visible and Healveda Care.
• Translate written requirements and existing content into clear page structures and user journeys.
• Create wireframes, page designs, component systems, and developer-ready files.
• Design social graphics, advocacy campaigns, reports, presentations, infographics, quote graphics, media materials, and digital advertisements.
• Maintain separate but consistent design systems for both organizations.
• Select and document typography, colors, spacing, image treatment, buttons, forms, icons, and reusable page elements.
• Design for readability and accessibility across desktop and mobile devices.
• Organize design files so developers and other team members can locate, understand, and use them.
• Check the implemented website against the approved design and identify anything that was built incorrectly.
• Present design decisions with a clear explanation of how they support the organization and the intended user.
• Revise work based on specific feedback without losing the central purpose of the design.
WHAT WE EXPECT
We are not looking for someone who places content into a template and waits for detailed instructions on every section. You must read the material, understand what the page is supposed to accomplish, identify missing design decisions, and present a thoughtful solution.
Your first version should show that you understood the assignment. It should not require the founder to redesign the work for you.
You must be able to move from direction to execution, meet deadlines, manage revisions, and deliver complete files without being chased.
NON-NEGOTIABLE WORK STANDARD
This is serious work for organizations serving people with complex health conditions and people who have been ignored or failed by systems that were supposed to protect them.
The design must be accurate, intentional, and finished. Missed deadlines, recycled template work, incomplete files, repeated failure to follow written requirements, disappearing without communication, or claiming work is complete when key elements are missing will end the working relationship quickly.
You are expected to raise problems early and bring possible solutions—not wait until a deadline has already passed.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
Apply if you:
• Have strong graphic-design and web-design experience.
• Can show complete website projects, not only isolated images.
• Understand responsive design, accessibility, page hierarchy, and developer handoff.
• Can create serious advocacy and healthcare designs without making them look clinical, childish, sensational, or generic.
• Work confidently in professional design software and maintain organized source files.
• Can follow detailed requirements while still bringing strong independent judgment.
• Take responsibility for the quality of the final result.
PROOF-OF-ABILITY REQUIREMENT
Applicants must submit:
Three relevant examples of web-design work.
Three relevant examples of graphic-design work.
A short explanation of their specific contribution to each project.
An example showing how a design changed from the initial concept to the completed result.
A brief explanation of how they would visually distinguish Make Me Visible from Healveda Care.
Applicants who submit only template work, unexplained team projects, broken links, or work they cannot verify as their own will not be considered.
