Position Summary:   

The Giant Food Internship Program is designed to create a mutually beneficial learning experience for both Giant Food and college students from the communities we serve. Interns gain hands-on business experience, participate in professional development opportunities, and contribute to projects that support Giant Food's strategic priorities while building skills for future career success. 

Internship opportunities are available across several business functions, including: 

Human Resources 

Marketing 

Merchandising 

Real Estate 

Store Operations / Pharmacy Operations 

Supply Chain 

What You Will Do:  

Grow Our People   

Develop leadership and professional skills through learning and development opportunities 

Partner with a dedicated mentor who will help guide your professional journey 

Build meaningful relationships with leaders and associates across the organization 

Gain exposure to career opportunities within the grocery and retail industry

Support initiatives that help deliver an exceptional experience for our customers and communities

       Operational Excellence  

Gain hands-on experience in a corporate business environment 

 Work on projects aligned with your field of study and career interests 

 Deliver a final project presentation to the Giant Food Operating Committee and business leader 

Participate in professional workshops and development sessions 

Build communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills 

What You Will Bring: 

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university 

Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 

Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn 

 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred 

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 

 Hourly Wage: $23.00

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.  Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the role, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable law.  We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.  

This position will be on-site at the Giant Food Headquarters in Hyattsville, MD.
