About Allevalux

Allevalux is an emerging lighting company developing a new generation of products at the intersection of technology, health, science, and design.

We are looking for a hands on Electrical Engineer to help turn innovative lighting concepts into real, manufacturable products. You will work directly on the electronics behind our LED lighting systems, from PCB and driver design to controls, prototyping, testing, and integration into the final fixture.

This is an opportunity to actually build products and see your engineering move from concept to prototype and ultimately into manufacturing.

What You’ll Work On

• Design and test LED, power, and control PCBs, including schematics, layout, bring up, and debugging
• Select and integrate LEDs, drivers, power supplies, dimming systems, and controls
• Work with constant current and multi channel LED systems
• Build, troubleshoot, test, and improve physical prototypes
• Support mechanical and thermal design of lighting fixtures using 3D CAD
• Evaluate heat management, component placement, electrical performance, and reliability
• Work with our product development team to integrate electronics, mechanical components, and industrial design
• Prepare engineering documentation for prototyping, manufacturing, and certification
• Help take products from concept through prototype, testing, and production

What We’re Looking For

We care more about what you have designed and built than where you gained the experience. Relevant experience can come from graduate research, university projects, internships, personal projects, or professional work.

You should have:

• Graduate level education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a closely related field, either currently pursuing or completed
• Strong hands on PCB experience, including schematic design, layout, bring up, testing, and debugging
• Understanding of LED drivers, power electronics, and constant current LED systems
• Experience building and troubleshooting electronics using standard lab equipment
• Familiarity with mechanical CAD and basic thermal design for physical products
• Ability to take an engineering concept and turn it into a working prototype
• Strong interest in lighting, electronics, and physical product development

Even Better If You Have

• Designed LED lighting products, LED boards, or multi channel LED systems
• Experience with lighting controls such as 0 to 10V, DALI, or DMX
• Experience with Altium, KiCad, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar engineering tools
• Experience selecting LEDs, drivers, power supplies, sensors, and control components
• Exposure to UL lighting standards, EMI/EMC testing, thermal testing, certification, or design for manufacturing
• Experience working with manufacturers or preparing designs for production

Professional lighting industry experience is not required. If you have designed and built relevant systems through research, school, internships, or your own projects, we want to see them.

Work Arrangement

This is a part time, hourly contract position with a hybrid work arrangement in Orange County, California.

Some work can be completed remotely, but regular in person work will be necessary for prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, collaboration, and hands on product development. Candidates should therefore be located in or within reasonable commuting distance of Orange County.
