Financial Analyst Intern – Summer 2027
We are seeking students graduating in 2028 who do not plan to pursue a Master’s degree immediately following graduation.
The Role
As a Blue Ops Financial Analyst Intern, you’ll participate in a rotational internship program designed to provide hands-on exposure to multiple areas of our business, including M&A, FP&A, Accounting, Data Science, and Operations.
Throughout the program, you’ll work alongside project teams and professionals across different levels and functions of the organization, contributing to real client engagements and internal initiatives. You’ll strengthen your financial, analytical, and technical skill set while gaining experience with tools such as Power BI, as well as our proprietary Diligent® and Catalyst® software.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience within a growing, multi-faceted business serving the private equity, investment banking, and corporate markets. As a Financial Analyst Intern, you’ll develop practical experience in financial analysis, modeling, data analysis, and business process support while learning how our teams partner with clients to solve complex business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, develop insights, and support M&A and FP&A engagements.
Assist with financial modeling, analysis, and due diligence in support of client M&A initiatives.
Work alongside project teams and professionals across the organization, contributing to client engagements and internal initiatives.
Prepare client-facing presentations, analyses, and other deliverables and participate in key project meetings.
Support monthly close processes and provide meaningful financial analysis to management.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and the development of high-quality client deliverables.
Collect, manipulate, and structure data from multiple sources to develop actionable insights for clients.
Gain exposure to a variety of industries, project types, and functional areas throughout the rotational program.
Collaborate with fellow interns on a capstone team project, applying skills and knowledge developed throughout the internship and presenting findings and recommendations to Blue Ops leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Junior standing and pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI or Alteryx is a plus.
Interest in developing technical skills using tools such as Diligent®, Catalyst®, Power BI, and ERP systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly, and take ownership of work while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Comfortable working with team members across different functions and levels of the organization.
A demonstrated drive for learning, professional growth, and long-term success within the organization.
