YouTube Video Editor Intern: Books, Creativity & Self-Development
About the Opportunity
YouTube Video Editor Intern — Books, Creativity & Self-Development
Remote | Video Editing / Digital Media / Content Creation
We're looking for a creative, motivated Video Editor Intern to help develop and grow the Rich Hebron YouTube channel, a platform exploring books, creativity, self-development, modern life, and the ideas shaping our world.
Rich Hebron is an author, artist, and founder of Blue Byron Books, an independent publishing collective dedicated to amplifying original voices and ideas.
Through his personal YouTube channel, Rich shares his experiences as an author and publisher, explores influential books and thinkers, discusses creativity and personal growth, and documents the process of building an independent creative life.
We're looking for someone who enjoys digital storytelling and wants to help turn these conversations and experiences into engaging YouTube content.
A genuine love of books, reading, and self-development is a major plus.
What You'll Do
- Edit short-form vertical videos for YouTube Shorts.
- Transform raw vertical recordings into polished videos with clean cuts, captions, on-screen text, and thoughtful pacing.
- Identify compelling 30–60-second moments from longer YouTube videos, including book discussions, book hauls, creative reflections, and conversations.
- Repurpose medium-form and long-form content into engaging standalone clips.
- Create Shorts from Rich Reflections, a guided self-reflection segment of the Rich Conversations podcast focused on clarity, purpose, self-understanding, and personal growth.
- Upload, schedule, and publish completed Shorts directly to the Rich Hebron YouTube channel.
- Collaborate with Rich on editing styles, presentation, and ways to improve the viewer experience.
- Bring your own creative instincts and ideas to the editing process.
Content You'll Work With
Books & Literature: Book recommendations, reading experiences, literary discussions, influential authors, personal libraries, and the publishing world.
Creativity & the Artistic Life: Writing, making art, building Blue Byron Books, creative independence, and the process of bringing ideas into the world.
Self-Development & Reflection: Personal growth, mindfulness, intentional living, purpose, and guided reflections designed to encourage greater self-awareness.
Modern Life & Culture: Technology, digital culture, society, and the opportunities and challenges of living in the 21st century.
Who We're Looking For
- Familiarity with YouTube Shorts and short-form video editing.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing software.
- Good instincts for pacing, storytelling, captions, and selecting engaging moments.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to experiment with different editing styles.
- Interest in YouTube, digital media, content creation, and online culture.
- A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for creative work.
Especially valuable: Someone who loves books, reads regularly, follows BookTube, or has a strong interest in philosophy, creativity, and self-development.
We're not looking for perfection. We're looking for someone with taste, initiative, curiosity, and the ability to execute.
How We Work
This is a remote opportunity with direct creative collaboration.
Rich will provide recorded video material, ideas, and direction. You'll help shape that material into compelling content, taking ownership of editing and scheduling YouTube Shorts.
We value creative freedom, clear communication, experimentation, and follow-through.
The goal is to develop a consistent stream of thoughtful, engaging videos while giving you meaningful hands-on experience working with an active author, creator, and independent publisher.
Why Join
- Gain practical experience editing and publishing YouTube content.
- Work directly with an author, artist, and publishing founder.
- Develop a portfolio of published video work.
- Build experience in digital storytelling, audience engagement, and content repurposing.
- Explore books, creativity, and self-development through the content you produce.
- Contribute creatively to a growing independent media presence.
