Operations Intern

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs safety audits and incident reviews. Directs emergency situations to include weather alerts, fire, and medical emergencies.
Monitors quality controls, verifies operator process controls. Provides direction - aligns resources and corrective actions when any quality issue arises.
Monitors and drives reduction of scrap and verifies scrap logs for timeliness and accuracy.
Manages staffing requirements for zone.
Coordinates and collaborates with support departments and develops, recommends and documents operations policy for the shop floor.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Flexible work schedules are a requirement of the job.
Candidate may rotate from days to mid-day to night shifts.
Some evening hours available.
Time off is permitted pending proper notification and ability of other staff to support the schedule.
The successful candidate will be personable, assertive, self-directed, and articulate. The candidate will have strong communication skills, high aptitude with Microsoft Office programs to include Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. The candidate will engage in continuous improvement of our processes as well as self-development and will be a team player.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Should be at least a first-semester junior in college with a major emphasis in engineering, management, business administration, or a related field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
