The Information Security intern will have the opportunity to be a part of a team with a strong team dynamic, gain hands-on experience with production cybersecurity tools, and participate in a wide range of potential projects.
 
The selected candidate will carry out proper configuration and maintenance of security solutions, participate in the investigations being performed by the Information Security team, and play an integral role in the deployment of data classification technologies in support of Data Loss Prevention program.
 
Roles and Responsibilities:  

  • Assist with applications/tools including but not limited to Security Information & Event Management (SIEM), firewalls, e-mail gateway protection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and User/Entity & Behavior Analytics (UEBA) tools
  • Record and track IT security incidents, including but not limited to DLP violations, compromised accounts, e-mail threats, and insider threats
  • Review and update documentation for policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Basic Qualifications:  

  • Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university or have graduated within one year of start
  • Be majoring in Information Technology, Network Systems, Cyber Security, or related major.
  • Good understanding of network operations and software development concepts and methodologies.
  • Prior experience working with Windows or Linux OS.
  • Candidates must have authorization to work permanently in the US without the need for sponsorship (Currently, our organization is unable to support candidates that are on OPT, CPT or candidates that will need sponsorship, now or in the future).
 
Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in system or network administration.
  • Strong written communication skills and experience with network diagramming
  • Relevant cybersecurity or network certifications such as Security+, Network+ or CCNA
