Sales Intern
SWVA-Kentucky, LLC. at 2704 S. Big Run Road in Ashland, KY will be hiring an intern for our Sales Department.
Qualifications:
Prefer candidates be a freshman or sophomore. Must have good communication skills, must be detail oriented, and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must pass drug screen.
Description:
Intern will be expected to learn our order management system, which includes order entry, order entry review, inventory, shipment schedules, forecasting, pricing and internal sales audits. There will be some exposure to capacity planning, margin analysis, claims handling and industrial advertising, as well as special projects as they arise.
The majority of the intern’s time will be spent doing order entry and order entry review, managing our pricing spreadsheets, which are rather extensive and handling incoming telephone calls from customer. Intern must be willing to occasionally venture onto shop floor.
Good command of language, grammar, and telephone etiquette are a must as well as the ability to interface with many different groups of people - accounting, production, engineering, etc. Written communication skills are also necessary as some letter writing is required. Great resume building experience, fun job - nice people!
Intern can gain great sales and marketing experience by working in a publicly owned manufacturing company.
Wages and Hours:
$10.50 per hour to start with increases.
20 - 25 hours per week during school
up to 40 hours per week summers
Maximum – fewer than 30 hours per week average
