What You'll Do
Software Engineer interns work closely with their mentor to design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain programs and systems used throughout the organization. In this role, interns are given the opportunity to interact with user groups and other IT personnel both inside and outside of the organization.
Our Software Engineer Internship offers opportunities to:
- Develop and implement new Java / Web programs and systems in an Agile development environment
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation of all new and existing systems
- Interact with user groups, other Information Technology personnel, and areas outside of Sentry such as software providers and consultants, etc.
- Respond to systems problems by analyzing the problem, formulating a solution, and changing or repairing the system to avoid costly interruption of services to users
What it Takes
In order to be eligible for this elite opportunity you must meet the following criteria:
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related field
- Obtain a minimum in-major GPA of 3.0
- Graduating in Fall of 2022 or Spring of 2023
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere
- Sentry does not offer employment in this position to holders of F-1, J-1, and H-1 Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience
