IT Intern
This is for our 2023 Summer IT Internship Program. The successful intern will be entering their Junior or Senior year in the Fall 2023 semester with at least a 3.0 Major GPA.
The program is full-time, paid, and is 13 weeks in length from May - August.
We have several positions to support various networking, analytics, software, and clinical applications. Each intern is assigned to work within a team on a project throughout their tenure.
Human Resources Phone Screenings will begin in early November.
Final interviews will be in early December.
Final decision will be presented in early January.
POSITION SUMMARY: The intern will be assigned to assist professional staff with providing computer hardware, software and technical support to various divisions within WVU Medicine Information Technology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Must be an undergraduate at the time of the internship and have completed, at minimum, one sophomore semester.

- Adheres to the established policies of the WVUHS as well as the policies of the entity or entities where the IT team member is assigned to work and/or employed.
- Assisting with user support requests.
- Assisting with computer, hardware, and software setup.
- Assisting with resolving problems with software products and systems.
- Designing, running, and monitoring software tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
- Understanding and assisting with software and hardware inventory management.
